Memorial Day
Another Memorial Day is here. So many folks here are thinking of love ones lost or forever changed because of war.
As we struggle to contain a runaway Presidency and try to end the madness started six years ago,it would be a time to also think about the families here at home.
Many military families are hurting financially,the main breadwinner not being at home.
Perhaps there is someone you know who could use a helping hand,maybe just babysitting the kids for a couple hours to give someone a break.

Round Two
Abu strikes again.
I an swamped at work for a while and missed most of the lying fuckers testimony.
The old 'I don't recall' meme got another work out though.
That shit makes me wonder just how long Conyers is going to put up with it.
Of course, the ever helpful Republican Senators went wayyy out of their way to help the lying sack of weasel shit. They went off topic at every chance, intellectual property concerns, immigration concerns, Rove set 'em up and they ran with it. What I did catch was nauseating.
And to top it off, Cspan had the hiccups all damn day.
There is some good news though, Murray Wass ( God Bless him) came out with a report that says the DOJ is holding back emails that show Rover was involved and would also show clearly that Abu is lying out his ass.
I am waiting for that bomb to drop.

That wacky Attorney General we have, Alberto Gonzolas is a never ending source of embarassment to this blogger.
The man gave an amazing display of ignorance in front of the investigative committee last week, claiming faulty memory at least sixty times.
At least two Senators called for his resignation on the spot. More calls for his departure followed soon after.
He is expected to return on May 10th and I am not holding my breath for any sudden improvement in his mental acuity.
I have read a few places that are saying that Bush will not let him go for a couple of reasons.One being that any replacement would have to go through confirmation hearings that would open the administration to legal liability.
Another reason being floated is that Bush owes Abu for saving his ass a couple of times in the past.
Neither of these really bother me. The fact that he hasn't been upfront with all of the hijinks that have gone on under his watch does. This guy, in my opinion, should be on trial for subverting the Constitution of the United States and for the politically motivated firings of 8 U.S. Attorney's, just for a start.His interpretation saying that Habeus Corpus is not inherently granted under the Constitution is one of the most dangerous things to have been done to erase our civil rights in the history of this country. That alone should be enough to impeach the fascist bastard all by itself.
Here is to the hope that Senators Waxman and Conyers can get the sonofabitch to trip up and incriminate himself so we can start the Bush regime on the long road to being bad history.

Monica Goodling, top aide to endangerd AG Gonzales submitted her resignation unexpectedly today, to be effective tomorrow.
In a three letter sentence she offered her resignation with no reason attached.
This comes almost two weeks after she told Congress that she would not appear for questioning and would invoke her fifth amendment rights if subpoenaed.
This is going to put the hurt on Abu something fierce.
Reportedly he has been practicing his testimony day and night in anticipation of his appearance before The Oversight committee.
Dude, How much practice does it take to say 'I can't recall' or ' I don't remember'?
Be cause as sure as I am sitting here , that is what we are looking at.
My guess is Abu is toast. He is between a rock and a very hard place.
The Repubs have been backing away from him like he has herpes.
Even Shrub has been getting quieter on the subject. All we need now is a 'heckofajob' moment, and he's done.
First I want to see the little bastard sweat. Hard. Then I want to see him get slapped with a contempt of congress charge.

Scooter has been found guilty on four out of five charges.
The right wingers went absolutely, predictably, insane today.
Flooding their quickly diminishing access to the media, the talking points were trotted out and marched across America with the utmost strident zeal.
We knew this would come, they are trying to cover their asses for no end of political and actual legal crimes.
The Wurlitzer was cranked to eleven while they tried to deny what eleven actual citizens figured out all by themselves, Scooter lied, repeatedly.
In a perfect world, I would be able to say, The End.
But, no, while the motion for retrial is being trotted out, the one bright spot is that now Scooter is a convicted felon.
That can not be changed unless Bush tries to pardon him. Boy, do I want to see that happen.

Libby trial set to end next week
I have been following this story for quite a while.
The trial for Scooter Libby has been keeping me glued to the FireDogLake website.
Absolutely fabuulous live blogging by Emptywheel and Swopa with Jane Hamsher and Christy Hardin Smith doing analysis. Fascinating.
It's nice to know that President Clusterfuck said that any one caught leaking in his administration would be fired.
Now we find that not one, not two, but FOUR senior administration officials leaked Valerie Plames identity to the press.
Treason, it's not what it used to be.
Back in the day, they would have lined these traitors up and put a bullet in 'em.
Makes me long for the good old days.
It aint over yet though. VP Cheney is more than likely behind the whole fuckin mess.
Hopefully they will boil it down and we can see SEVERAL convictions.

So, now that Leahy is already smelling blood and kicking off some (Long overdue) investigations, Who should get the first subpoena?Thats a tough one to call. Soooo many crooked motherfuckers out there.And before you start in, if there are some Dems in the crooked category,(you know there are) FINE. Clean them out too!This country is long overdue for a good purge.Maybe now there will be some accountability in the current administration.And maybe we can finally get back to being some decent people.

Where I live we have mail in ballots ONLY.
None of this hack the vote shit.No hanging chads either.
The one problem ,so far, is that the new ballot is a two party primary.
You have to color in a box to declare yourself either Democrat,or Republican, so you can vote in the November election.
Apparently, people have been missing this little feature. Accordingly, now up to 10% of ballotts cast will be voided.
The only consolation is they won't be counted for Republicans as vote fraud!
Pay attention,Ohio and Florida.

Apparently, people have been missing this little feature. Accordingly, now up to 10% of ballotts cast will be voided.
The only consolation is they won't be counted for Republicans as vote fraud!

Elections are coming up all across the country.
One thing I make sure to do is vote. That and pester everyone I know to do the same.
This year is critical for us progressives and the country as a whole. George Bush and his band of thieves has fucked this country up ,big time. The culture of corruption has to be exterminated.People who actually care about our great nation need to be elected into office, and some serious fucking justice needs to be meeted out to the criminals they are replacing.It is being floated that Democrats pretty much have a lock on at least one House.With a chance to take both Houses, possibly the demise of the fascist regime currently in power is near.
So get off yer butt an' VOTE!
