Been Off My Feed The Past Few Days

I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me.
My sleep schedule is down right schizophrenic. Three hours here, three hours there, I almost forgot what daylight is, I am up all damn night and sleep all day.

Don't want to eat, I had a bag of popcorn one day and a bag of Fritos the next day. I finally forced myself to get out of bed after three damn days and go out and get some breakfast. I brought it home and ate about half of it.
Put it in the fridge and then at midnight, I finally got hungry enough to grab the last half of chicken fried steak and just munch on it cold.

Drug my ass out of bed yesterday and went down to the club, had a couple of drinks and played some poker. My truck has been sitting since New Years, it started right up. After I got done playing poker, I got in it to go get beer and cat litter and it immediately started running like shit, spitting and sputtering, missing on a couple of cylinders. I babied the sonofabitch home, I have no idea what is going on there. Runs fine and then don't. I don't know if it is water in the gas, the distributor cap or what the fuck. It smelled like candle wax after I revved the shit out of it. Who knows, maybe I have an admirerer who decided to help me out.
Either way, it is pouring rain out and I ain't even going to open the hood.
I am going to get in it and go get something to eat.

I got some more bad news about my Granny yesterday too but I will spare ya that for now.

Thanks fer stopping by, have a nice day.

A Two Day Headache

I thought I got rid of the fucker but I see it is back.

It started last night, was here with a vengeance this morning when I woke up, afternoon, whatever.
Now it is back again.

I might have to result to the Rush Limbaugh cure.
No, ya fucking perverts, I ain't talking about little boys from foriegn countries. I have one of those little pills he likes so much.
Jesus, not the blue ones, you people are just fucking nasty, get your minds out of the gutter, you are crowding me.
I am talking pain killers instead of hard on pills, thank you very much..
I could be comfortably numb here in a few minutes, I am still debating if it is necessary.
A two day headache ain't a lot of fun.
What the fuck, all I have to do tomorrow is get cat food, take a shower, get some gas and haul ass to go see my sweety.
I certainly won't be telling her I have a headache when I get there...

While I am at it, because I just absolutely love the lady,

Have a nice day and be kind to someone.

I Am Sofa King Done

I just spent the last three days getting my shit out of the shop, after I was "laid off".
My lower back is fried, the sciatic nerve in my right leg is lit up like a neon sign.
I ate a corn dog on Wednesday for breakfast, had three bites out of a tuna sandwich and went and fell down.
I had a half of a home made egg and  english muffin Thursday for breakfast and a Taco Supreme for dinner , drank myself into a coma and woke up at six thirty this morning.
Had another corn dog and a coke, worked my home sick ass off all day, got stuck in some serious fucked up traffic, forty minutes to go a mile and a half, got back to the shop twenty minutes after they closed, shook the hand of the guy who got my job and went to my parents.Caught a buzz, got a cell phone and got home a half hour ago.
I made a cajun rub pork cutlet for dinner and now I am going to pass the fuck out.
I have a lot of shit on my plate right now and paying seventy bucks a month to Blog might be going the fuck away soon.
Either way, thanks fer stopping by.

Right now, I am so fucking exhausted the only thing saving my ass from being incoherent is Spellcheck.

Miserable Shit

I have a wicked assed chest cold.

I felt that oh so familiar burning in my nose for a minute yesterday but I was so busy, I forgot about it.
I got off work and went to the watering hole for a bit and then swung by the store for some needed additions to the crock pot full of Pork Roast.
I got that all going and laid down with a beer and it hit me like a fucking freight train, all at once.

My throat got sore and within minutes, it felt like my lungs were on fire.

I have been hacking and coughing until I puke and my throat and my lungs both feel like someone sandpapered them.

I am so sick of being sick.

It's like I am the canary in the coal mine, if there is some kind of nasty shit going around, I am tits up first.

It does wonders for my disposition too.

At least I can lay here and drink beer until nap time, about ten minutes from now.

Listen Closely

This is so fucking cool I can't hardly stand it!

Neil Young has a new album coming out but he threw this up on Youtube for everyone and it is FUCKING AWESOME!!

Before I put this up, I have to thank a very great guy and someone I consider a friend, Eureka Springs, who put this up at Firedoglake earlier tonight. Eureka Springs is the shit and he is into music and politics and is a very cool guy.

Thanks dude, I told ya was going to swipe this!

Neil Young was famous when I was still knee high to a chopping block for his anti war stance and is absolutely legendary.
This is fucking great.

Pay attention, this is something he just threw together.

Bonus, here are the lyrics, posted at HuffPo.

Lyrics to "Fork in the Road"

Got a pot belly.
It's not too big.
Gets in my way
when I'm driving my rig.
 Driving this country
 in a big old rig,
things I see
 mean a lot.

My friend has a pickup.
 Drives his kid to school.
 Then he takes his wife
to beauty school.

 Now she's doin' nails.
 Gonna get a job.
 Got a good teacher.

There's a fork in the road ahead.
I don't know which way I'm gonna turn.
There's a fork in the road ahead.

Forgot this year,
to salute the troops.
They're all still there
in a fucking war. It's no good.
 Whose idea was that?

I've got hope,
 but you can't eat hope.
I'm not done.
Not giving up.
Not cashing in.
 Too late.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for me.
It's for all those creeps watching tickers on TV.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for me.

I'm a big rock star.
 My sales have tanked,
 but I still got you.
 Thanks!
 Download this.
 Sounds like shit.

Keep on bloggin' 'til the power goes out,
 and your battery's dead.

Twist and Shout.
On the radio.
 Those were the days.
 Bring 'em back.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
Bailout coming but it's not for you.

Got my new flat-screen.
 Got it repo'd now.
They picked it up.
Left a hole in the wall.
 Last Saturday.
 Missed the Raiders game.

There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
There's a bailout coming but it's not for you.
It's for all those creeps hiding what they do.

Thank You, May I Have Another?

Karma is a bitch.

True to form , I got bit on teh ass again.
After the big Flood the other day, I set down a pair of rubber gloves I was using next to the bathroom sink after I was done cleaning up the fucking mess from a door to door water flood.

Lucky me, I came home tonight to find water running out the motherfucking front corner of the the trailer, the old cat decided to make it's self comfortable on top of the sink in the bathroom, with the water running to keep the pipes from freezing, again, because I had the heater going to help dry out the joint, and plugged up the sink with the rubber gloves I sat down after cleaning up the last mess
Ain't life grand?
Holy Fucking Shit.
This is after the roads being frozen and having to drive three miles an hour in Four Wheel Drive through town on a sheet of ice.

Happy Holidays.

It might be a bit before I post again due to my having to regain my sense of humor.

No, it is too late, I am now officially crazy.
Do yourself a favor and stay clear the hell out of kicking distance.

I see the folks telling me to get out now.
To where?
Right. I am still luckier than a great deal of the people with a heartbeat on this planet.

If I was buddies with the assholes currently running this country, I could get a brand new trailer from the government, I just can't hold my breath that long, Mr. FEMA dude, and there is a huge conspiracy going on right now with the disposition of all those FEMA trailers the government bought for the victims of Katrina that were found to have high levels of Formaldehyde. The government is paying some farmers hundreds of thousands of dollars a month to store them while they sell them off for scrap metal.

Meanwhile, the folks of New Orleans get bupkiss.

I might have some troubles but I don't live in a city that the Bush Administration decided to let die a slow death.
Fuck that. Life goes on for everybody. I just have some extra fun.

I'm Whupped

Dang, back to back transmission jobs. Identical 95 Ford half ton pickups. The shifter mechanism broke in my work truck last week and I finally got it back together Thursday.I had to take it out and take the top off and send the shift lever mechanism out and have it overhauled by my buddy.
No sooner did I get that done and then the old man that fetches parts for me had his clutch quit working Friday. The slave cylinder went bad and the dang thing is inside the bell housing so ya gotta pull the transmission to get to it. Ford is a four letter word.
I worked for Ford for ten years at a Lincoln Mercury dealership and now I remember why I hate working on cars.

At least the shop at the dealer had hoists, you could pick up a car or a truck, I even worked on limo's, and stand up while you were working.
This place? Oh hell no.

It's all about floor jacks and jack stands and rolling around on creepers when ya can, sliding around on a concrete floor on yer back when ya can't.

Both times I had to roll the transmission off the tranny jack onto the floor and drag it out because I couldn't get the truck off the ground high enough.

Then it took three of us to get it back on the jack when it was under the truck again and then fight the dirty bastard to get it stuck back into place.

I will be 49 years old at the end of next month and I have been wrenching for thirty years.
This shit is getting real old.
I am supposed to be a supervisor but I am ridiculously under manned.

It's nice to be able to point at something and tell someone that "You need to fix that", but in the mean time here I am.

Oh, I forgot to mention that generally,I am lucky to be able to work on anything for more than five or ten minutes at a time.
I am either being paged to answer the damn phone, my boss is telling me the next ten things he wants done before tomorrow , I am ordering parts or I am dealing with a moron who just broke a hundred thousand dollar truck out on the road somewhere, sometimes several states away.

I can't tell you how many times I have had to slide out from underneath a Big Rig and go take care of something and then come back and try to remember where the hell I was at trying to fix something, that ain't a good thing when you are dealing with vehicles that weigh a hundred thousand pounds fully loaded.

I love my job.

I actually consider myself fortunate I have one and this is a pretty good outfit to work for, I just need some competent help that they don't steal to do other jobs three out of five days a week.

I am tired.

I'll see if I can't find something more interesting to bitch about tomorrow.

Bottoms up.

On ToThe Great Gig In The Sky

Richard Wright, keyboardist and singer/ songwriter for Pink Floyd has died.

He wrote the lyrics to the song The Great Gig In The Sky, I felt it only appropriate to go with that for the headline.

Mr. Wright has passed away after battling cancer, at home.
The family has no further comments at this time.

RIP Dude, thanks for the memories and the awesome tuneage. You will be missed.

H/T LA Times for the article
.

Fuck, now I'm depressed. This really is a Black Monday now.Although the ladies vocals in this have amazed me since the first time I ever heard this song, they did know how to find extraordinary talent.Just beautiful.
The end of an era.

No Rest Fer The Wicked, Round Three.

This is the third installment of a long post about my weekend, scroll down for parts one and two.

So I wake up this morning, sore as hell, tired and GRUMPY!

After the night from Hell last night, I am hungry because I never did eat anything all day.
I get dressed, go outside and remember what a fucking nightmare awaits my attention.
Fuck it, it will wait.
I went and had a nice breakfast and came home to start in.
The water leak had been coming from under the bed.
Remember, I live in the Rat Hole, a travel trailer.
Under the bed is where the fresh water tank is and shares a wall with the bathroom.

I tore off the temporary bedding, threw it outside too and then had to take the plywood off to see what was going on.
Fuck. Me.
After getting things stripped down so I could see, I find an electric water pump, the fresh water tank, a couple of hard vinyl water lines and the hard plastic drain pipe from the bath tub, all within about a foot from the outside wall.
The water and drain lines then disappear under the wall into the bathroom, UNDER the bath tub.
Not good.
I grabbed a flash light, went outside and turned the water on and then ran back in to see if I could find the leak.
Of course, it is squirting out of the 'T' that goes up to the shower and then on to the toilet.
Right smack dab under neat the wall separating the bathroom and the bedroom, UNDER the drain for the bathtub.
MAJOR surgery is called for, I can barely see it but can't in any way get to it.
I start yanking the panel off on the side of the tub to get a better look. No dice, I can't get to it from there either.
I now have a choice.
Either rip the mother fucking bath tub out, or cut an access hole through the wall, under the bed, next to the water tank and all the water lines, with a Sawzall.
You get one guess.

Of course, today is muggy as hell and I am now kneeling on the plastic water tank, trying not to cut clear through every damn water line running through the wall, about a foot underneath where my knees are, one handed.
I get the wall opened up and the sweat is running into my eyes, my glasses keep sliding off my face and I STILL can't get to the one I am after.

I ended up sawing the fucking bastard out by hand with the tiny little saw on a Leatherman multi tool!
I finally get the sonofabith out and now it is off to the hardware store.
Yeah, try finding vinyl water pipe fittings.
I finally had to buy a bunch of shit that would work to piece it back together, with one small detail to be worked out.
The clamps that hold all this shit together are crimped.
Oh, they can rent you the tool, fuck that I says, I'll figure something out.
I have a pair of pliers I got somewhere years ago that are a marvel too look at.
They are wire fencing pliers, the original multi tool.
About eight inches long, one leg of the pliers is a tiny nail puller, one is a flat bladed screw driver, it has a tiny hatchet blade on one side, round serrated jaws for grabbing small pipe and rounded snippers at the tip. This thing is older than I am.
The snipper part fits just perfect around the clamp where it needs to be squeezed together and the whole thing is just small enough to fit in the hole I am working on.
After an hour of grunting and squeezing for all I was worth, I had it back together.
I ran outside and turned on the water and came back inside and got soaked!
The pliers didn't quite crimp the clamps enough and water was squirting all over the fucking place!
Off goes the water and off I go to another hardware store to get a bigger set of snippers.
I originally went to the first one because I knew the closer one wouldn't have the fittings I needed, from past experience.
Twenty bucks later, Back to squeezing.
I ended up cutting off and replacing two out of the three but I WIN!
YAY!

Oh, now I have to put all this shit back together, in the mean time all of my clean clothes and every stitch of bedding I have are still outside, and it starts raining.
HARD.

I can't fucking believe it.
I threw the fuck plywood down and started piling clothes on it!

It's going to be a bit damp sleeping tonight but I will manage.
I still have a shit load of clothes to put away too.

I won't bother telling you about the propane leaks I had to deal with getting the hot water heater going again after I had to change bottles, it would just scare ya.

My Guardian Angel works over time a lot, let's just put it that way.

Sorry for the long, three part post but now you get an idea of the kind of shit I deal with on a regular basis.

I must be real wicked because I am freaking exhausted.

No Rest Fer The Wicked, Round Two

Saturday morning, I wake up way too early and decide to go back to sleep after getting up to take a leak.
I finally drag my ass out of bed about nine o'clock and I am still wore out from yesterdays marathon.
I get dressed, after realizing that the fucking clothes I took to the folks to dry are still siting there in the basket other than what I wore down there.
Shit.
I get moving and go down to the club and have a cup of coffee because they aren't serving breakfast today.
Two cups later, I am shaking like a dog shitting peach pits, I just can't drink coffee like I used to, it tears me up.
So, fuck it, time for an adult beverage.
Or two, OK, maybe three.

After a couple hours of sitting there bullshitting, I realize that I am not getting a damn thing done so I head home.
I open the door and sigh.
Laundry.
Lots of it, is waiting.
So I start packing the shit out to the truck, basket after basket. You would think I would do this on a more regular basis but I ain't that smart, I have too many clothes so I just keep piling them up.
Anyways, I go down to the laundry mat and start in.
It took a whole row of washers, plus one of the industrial sized MOFO's because I took some bedding too.

Of course, there just happens to be a bar next door, how conveeeeeenient.
Five hours and thirty dollars worth of quarters later, I am feeling no pain and have a TRUCK LOAD of clean clothes to get home, about six blocks and it is getting dark.

I unlock the door and HOLY SHIT, I have a catastrophe on my hands, a water line let go and there is fucking water everywhere!
Jayzus!

Forget bringing any clothes in, there is no place to put them down because the water had been coming from underneath my bed and the bed spread hanging down had gotten soaked and siphoned the water off the floor and soaked every fucking inch of bedding too!

I ran out and turned the fucking water off and proceeded to clean up what I could so I could start stripping all the bedding off and threw it outside on my little car sitting there and wipe off the plywood under all of it as best I could.

Fortunately, I had some plastic sheeting and a sleeping bag to throw down, along with the bedding I had just washed so I could fall down and go to sleep!

This is day two, I still have today to survive, coming on the next post.

No Rest Fer The Wicked

I need to clean my ears out or something, someone is trying to tell me something and I ain't listening.
This is going to be long, just like my weekend.
There is also going to be sniveling involved.

Last I wrote, I was scheduled to take Friday off and travel to Coos Bay for a friend of the families memorial service, that is where I am going to start.

My Dad told me to be at his place at 7 AM so we could get down there in time for the One O'clock service.

Thursday night after several adult beverages, I realize I don't have shit to wear.
At Midnite, I am washing clothes at my neighbors place, he has a washer and dryer in a shed out back he lets me use.
The washer gets done and I throw my stuff in the dryer and go to bed.
I get up at six fifteen, still somewhat muddled from the night before and go over to get my clothes out of the dryer, they are soaking wet, the dryer took a shit.
So I start racing around and throw everything in the truck and haul ass over to my folks so I can throw these clothes in the dryer, fully expecting to hear my old man pitch a fit about us going to be late.
Lo and behold, my folks are barely out of bed and still have to take showers etc. , etc., etc.

Cool. Eventually we get out the door and then there is the usual fuck around getting out of town ritual, get gas, beer, smokes, breakfast, the paper, you get the idea.
At about 8 O:clock we hit the road and still have to drive 250 miles.

Time goes by and we are still pretty much OK until we get off the Interstate about thirty miles.
Me and Pop are yakking it up, I am sipping on a beer because I ain't driving and we aren't paying real close attention to what is going on. We get into this construction zone and go around a corner and there sits a State Cop.
I look over and Pops is doing 67 in a 55, in a construction zone where the fines double for things just like that.
I said , "Shit, you are getting pulled over, right now".
Dad is still yakking away so I said it again, this time he hears me and says, 'Yeah".
I look back and sure as shit here he comes so I start stuffing the newspaper into the sack, covering up the beer.
This is a narrow, two lane, twisty river road, Dad puts on the turn signal but there is nowhere to pull over.
We come around a corner and traffic is stopped in front of a tunnel.
We stop, the cop gets out and tells Dad he was going 67 in a construction zone, Dad say's, "You are exactly right" and hands him his license, etc. After a couple of minutes of looking things over,
the cop tells him he is going to let him off with a warning and I almost fell out of the car!
That would have been a Four Hundred dollar ticket!!!
Long story short, we were about fifteen minutes late to the service because we hit three more bridges being repaired and had to sit and wait.
We got there, it was a very nice service and there were a lot of people there that I hadn't seen in twenty years, a lot of them were my Dad's friend's from High School, just like the fellow who the service was for.
We had a very good time talking to old friends.

We decided to take a different route home to avoid the construction, I drove because Pops is getting up there and has a bad eye and can't see when it gets dark.

Taking the different route turned out to be a mistake.
We went up the coast about fifty miles and turned in on another route we know, went twenty five miles up another twisty river road to where the road splits off to get to Eugene, Oregon, and the State Police have the road closed!
We never did find out what for either.
We wound up on this narrow, crooked assed river road with about a hundred ,twenty mile an hour corners.
We wound up way the hell and gone out of our way getting back to the freeway and ran into more fucking construction zones than we did coming down!

We finally got home at 10:30 that night.
Five hundred and some miles round trip.
We were beat and I jumped in the truck and came home and fell down.

I am going to stop here and break this up, there is more to come from this long weekend, this is just from one day.

I have hit the wall.

Outrage burnout.
It happens to the best of us.
The fact that I am usually busy as hell has not stopped me but right now I am having writers block, which should be impossible because I am not a writer!
There is no question there is still more bullshit going on than you can shake a stick at, I just don't know which one to follow. That and I really do have a great deal going on in my personal life right now.
I know what you are thinking so stop it right now.
Yes, I do have a personal life, It's what I call the giant clusterfuck that I deal with while drinking heavily after I leave the place called work.
I was going to rag on Blackwater but everyone and their retarded cousin is all over that.
Then I thought, Brittany! Of Course!
But I couldn't bring myself to jump on that low life bandwagon either, especially when I lived through my Dad getting custody of me and my brother back in 1970 when it was unheard of.
Then there was the whistle blower guy who is still sticking it to Bush over the illegal wiretap horse shit. Good on you dude, I just couldn't follow it like I wanted to.
So , what the fuck, I thought I would just ramble incoherently for a bit, call it a day, go get hammered and wait for my next inspiration.God knows there is plenty of it out there.
So if I am boring you to tears , head over to my blogroll, there are some great sites on it.
I promise to get a check up and refill the ornery tank. Who knows, I just might get vicious after someone.

Update
I just busted the FUCK out of another knuckle! Dammit that shit hurts!
Peeled the motherfuckin' hide off from my index fingernail to my first knuckle, bleedin' like a sonafabitch. SHIT! SHIT SHIT!!
