Cleaning House

I just went through the Blogroll and deleted over a dozen sites that either do not exist anymore or who have not posted in at least six months.
If you feel that your site has been unfairly deleted, give me a reason to put you back up in the comments.

Never Underestimate The Powers Of A Blogroll

I have been doing some Blog surfing for a couple of hours, randomly hitting peoples Blogrolls and clicking away.
I have found some sites I like and some crap too. Most of it is stuff I like.
I know a lot of people have their favorites that they go to every day but I want you all to take a few minutes and seriously look at the Blog rolls on these sites you visit.
Think of it as word of mouth advertising.

I know I go out of my way sometimes and directly ask the Blog owner to add me to their Blog list.
Hey, if ya don't ask sometimes, ya don't get, right?

I am always open to adding folks to mine, if you have been coming here for any length of time, take a serious look at mine and you will notice it has grown quite a bit over just the last year.

If you have someone you like and don't see it on my list, tell me about it in the comments. If you have a blog and want me to add you, do the same. All I ask is for reciprocity.

Just take a minute when you go read your favorite writer and roll the dice and pick one off of their Blogroll and check it out.

Wow....just, wow!
I swung by here yesterday and was checking in and notice something whacko with the Stat counter numbers.
So, I click on the thing and my freaking jaw hits the desk.

It seems Mike Finnigan over at Crooks and Liars linked to me in his Mikes Blog Round Up column that he does and I went from the average of anywhere between a hundred and fifty-Two hundred hits to Twenty Five Hundred hits in one day!
Yikes!

I mean, this is a tiny little blog and those numbers are crazy!
Hell, I was flat out shocked.

Anyway, I just want to thank everyone who stopped by , that was pretty humbling.

To make up for not posting anything about cats on Caturday, I am going to add two of my favorite kitty spots to my Blogroll.
First up is an at least twice daily look at I Can Has Cheezeburger, otherwise known as Lolcats.
If you haven't been to this place yet, you are doing something very wrong on the internets.

The next one is one of my personal favorites,Watertiger, at Dependable Renegade. This lady knocks me out with her wit and snark.She falls under the Kitty category for her name and she likes cats too,BIG CATS.
To be fair, she likes the little guy's too.

Watertiger's picture captioning abilities are beyond par, she cracks me up constantly.
I always get a kick out of her skewering the latest idiot that makes the mistake of getting in her crosshairs.This is another place I always check in on a couple times a day usually just to make sure I haven't missed an instant classic in the making.
She is a sweetheart and I am honored that she considers me one of her internet buddies.This is way overdue.

The Scruggs Case Fan Club Has A New ClubHouse

My lovely Flowah over at Folo has upgraded her site and it is real nice.
I wanted to let everyone know so
you can update your Blogroll if you are so inclined.
She and her band of tenacious law aficionado's are eyeball deep in the Scruggs case, and about a half a dozen related, side cases.
They get out into the really tall weeds interpreting the law and the chesslike ins and outs of these cases.
In case you haven't heard of Dickie Scruggs, he is former Senator Trent Lott's brother in law and he is in a heap-O-trouble.
It's complicated so I am going to link to the Scruggs for Dummies piece that the good folks at Folo created just for people like me who haven't followed it real close.
You are about to see what tries to pass as business and is actually graft and corruption ALLEGEDLY committed by some world class egomaniacs.Bribing judges, scamming insurance claims from Hurricane Katrina, there is all KINDS of hinky going ons here.
There have already been some convictions in this matter so things are starting to get down to brass tacks.
Take a gander at the breakdown and it looks like a soap opera, no wonder some of these folks are hooked, it has some major players in it.
It also has the potential to blast a big hole in some sleazy circles.

Something Way The Hell Overdue

That would be adding Maru and crew to the Blogroll.
WTF Is It Now has been one of my must stops for a long time.
Heaping portions of snark and wit with a side of irreverance , topped by a Take No Prisoners attitude.
I have to keep a bottle of window cleaner close by whenever I go to visit, my screen usually winds up a little blurry from the spew.
Every Saturday is Caturday, so swing by and say meow.

I like seeing his thoughts on the Great Clusterfuck In The Sand and he is one sharp cookie with no holds barred.
Being a regular guy,life is not always without it's better moments and he uses his time and space well.

I ran across a couple of other sites tonight that have the same Blog Mistress.
One is refreshingly laid back, which is something we could all use more of.

I was lucky enough to find a Vargas girl gracing the wall inside and stayed to look around some more.
Her other establishment is Watergate Summer, where you can go and find a kindred spirit in our continued outrage of the current political atmosphere and also more pinups.

What I Am Going To Be When I Grow Up

I'd like you to please welcome the newest addition to my Blogroll, The Grumpy Old Man.

I think he is the perfect choice as we have the same attitude and the same vocabulary.
When you get to his place, scroll down on the left side to get to his latest thoughts on what usually has to do with the criminals in the Whitehouse and what he thinks of them.
I get a kick out of it.
The fact that he grew up around Seattle way back when gives him just that much more flavor.
