DAYUM! I Forgot! It's Blogroll Amnesty Day!
First off, I would like to thank Skippy one more time for being the first big name to put me on his Blogroll. Dude, yer THE MAN!
(Thats him in the picture, wearing the Fedora and checking his Email on the laptop)
Now then, This is the deal, go over to Skippy's to get the origins of this exercise if ya want, but here it is in a nutshell;
if you have a smallish, low traffic blog and you would like to get linked to and Blogrolled by a bigger, more well known blog, Leave a link to one of yer better posts in the comments of the bigger blog and hopefully, they will hook you up.
Here is my policy;
Email me or leave a link in the comments and I will add you to my Blogroll as long as you reciprocate.
Thats it, simple.
Now get busy.

Not quite as awesome a blog name as PoliTits, but awesome just the same. Consider yourself blogrolled.
ReplyDeleteHey, Busted,
ReplyDeleteYou asked why your kitty's giving you the stinkeye since you got her spayed a day ago? Are you fucking kidding me? Tell me you wouldn't be giving her the hairy eyeball if the situations were reversed? The late and greatly loved Faridah Peeples never forgave me for the spaying.
Anywho, nice to meetcha, and I'm adding you to my blogroll forthwith. Official welcome with tea and sammiches party tomorrow, so drop on by and leave a snarky comment. %^D
busted
ReplyDeleteyou have been added to my blogroll and you are welcome anytime
Tag, you're it.
ReplyDeleteO.B.,
ReplyDeleteNot to quibble, but it's one word-- Monkeyfister-- it's a Traditional US Naval term for the lead Boatswain's Mate who prepares lines for throwing. In the old days, he was the one who tied monkeyfists at the ends of the throwing lines. The Officer Of The Deck (OOD) would call out:
"Monkeyfister, prepare the lines for throwing ship to ship!(or ship to shore)"
...and he would turn to.
Any link love is good for me, but on this one, I'm just gonna nudge ya.
I've got you Blogrolled, and good to go at my place, Mate!
Excellent place you've got here!

Fixed it.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh. I worked on the Columbia river back in 80 after Mt. St. Helens blew, on the dredges.
I was a deck hand for a while, have worked with Pilebucks etc.
I know what a Monkeyfist Knot looks like and what they are, I just have never heard of a Monkeyfist-er.
Of course, I know what fisting is, so I won't go where this is obviously going to lead.
ROFLMAO.
Thanks for clearing that up for me, I really do appreciate it!
By the way, is that not one of THE most difficult knots in the world to tie?
ReplyDeleteI remember dinking around with one decades ago and it looked damn near impossible!
Thanks OB!
ReplyDeleteI certainly appreciate your fix, AND your story!
It IS a hell of a tough knot to tie properly-- that's why I give mad props to those Bo'suns who can properly tie it.
It's a very pretty and efficient knot when properly tied.
I've been spending a lot of time here, tonight, and I sure do like your way of putting the word out.
You've got a "Silver Sailor's Tongue," if I ever heard one. Fuckin' eh, right!
Don't change a thing, or modify your ways for ANYONE. Not even your pious Auntie. Your blog is EXCELLENT!!!
